INDIAN TWILIGHT
Ragas from an era of change: India in the 18th century.
Central to this transition was the singer and composer
Niyamat Khan (1670-1748), known as Sadarang, whose
compositions, encapsulating in a few lines the characteristics
of a raga, are still sung today as the structure round which
singers weave their improvisations.
