3 April - Music, Law and Medicine Walk

Tuesday 3rd of April 2012 at 5:30 PM

Festival Walk One 5.30-6.45pm
Meet at Holborn Tube Station

Janice Liverseidge leads four walks linked to Handel, his
contemporaries and life in Georgian London. All take place
just before a festival concert and finish in time to take
your seat.

MUSIC, LAW AND MEDICINE
from Holborn to the Foundling Museum

An opportunity to see the site of the former Lincoln Inn's Fields
Theatre where operas by Purcell, Gay and Handel were performed
before making our way through historic parts of legal London. On
our way we see connections with the city's medical advances
and in particular the development of the first children's hospital
and first home for abandoned babies. We complete our walk in
time for the festival concert at the Foundling Museum.
