12 April - Mayfair Walk

Thursday 12th of April 2012 at 5:45 PM

Festival Walk Two 5.45-6.45pm
Meet at Bond Street Tube Station

Janice Liverseidge leads four walks linked to Handel, his
contemporaries and life in Georgian London. All take place
just before a festival concert and finish in time to take
your seat.

MAYFAIR WALK
from Bond Street to the Grosvenor Chapel

Discover the home of the Society for Decay'd Musicians before paying a visit to Handel's main London home and learning about the history behind two major squares, home to wealthy families during the eighteenth century. We explore the sad history behind
one of the area's workhouses before making our way to the Grosvenor Chapel for the evening's concert.
