17 April - Handel and his patrons

Tuesday 17th of April 2012 at 5:30 PM

Festival Walk Three 5.30-6.45pm
Meet at St James's Palace

Janice Liverseidge leads four walks linked to Handel, his
contemporaries and life in Georgian London. All take place
just before a festival concert and finish in time to take
your seat.

HANDEL, HIS PATRONS AND THE ROYAL FAMILY
a walk around St James's

The truly blue blood area of London - here we'll learn about the
relationship between Handel and the royal family and the music
he wrote for them. After seeing the palace and the park we'll view
the shops and clubs frequented by royalty, complete with secret
galleried inn, before discovering one of the most fashionable
residential squares of Georgian London. We then make our way
to St George's Church for our evening concert.
